International business and sourcing professional Tom Wilke has been named Director of Quality Assurance at STAR EV. With a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Clemson University and more than two decades of experience in global trade and consumer product development, Tom brings a wealth of insight, innovation, and expertise to STAR’s manufacturing operations and infrastructure.
STAR created the Director of Quality Assurance position specifically to anticipate and address the challenges that often accompany a fast-growing company’s international production and distribution networks.
Tom has held leadership positions across the advanced manufacturing sector, including multinational producers such as Schneider Electric, Techtronic Industries-TTI, Carrier Commercial Refrigeration, and Milestone AV Technologies (now Legrand), in the US and around the world. As an executive and as a consultant, Tom is widely recognized for his negotiating, business planning, strategic sourcing, commodity management, and continuous improvement/cost reduction skills. He has lived in both Hong Kong and China, speaks Chinese, and has led procurement, logistics, engineering, quality, and office teams in Taiwan and China.
Now living in the South Carolina Upstate, Tom devotes all his free time to his wife, son, and twin daughters.
